Kick for an RBS 6 Nations Ticket

Throughout the 2008 RBS 6 Nations Championship, people all over the UK were kicking for Sport Relief – under the guidance of some of the biggest names in rugby.

We've been taking our rugby roadshow, Kick for an RBS 6 Nations Ticket, to cities across the UK for the past four years. In that time, it's grown in popularity and more than 20,000 people have taken part since it began.

This year, as part of The Royal Bank of Scotland's partnership with Sport Relief, the roadshow was bigger and better than ever. It featured a big screen and stage, and all sorts of family fun and activities.

Most importantly, each event provided a great opportunity to raise money for Sport Relief, helping the charity carry out its fantastic work in the UK and across the world.

Aspiring kickers were invited to make a donation to Sport Relief and test their skills for the chance to win RBS 6 Nations tickets. As if being encouraged by their rugby idols wasn't enough, no one left empty handed – win or lose. There were RBS mini-rugby balls for everyone taking part and every goal scorer won an official RBS 6 Nations supporter's rugby shirt.

A total of 5,726 people Kicked for an RBS 6 Nations Ticket in 2008, winning 2,850 rugby shirts and raising more than £5,500 for Sport Relief. And a host of international rugby stars from the past and present rose to the challenge.

Stars included England's David Strettle, Lesley Vainikolo, Shane Geraghty, Iain Balshaw and Jason Leonard; Welshmen Alix Popham, Robin Sowden-Taylor and Ieuan Evans; Scotland's Rory Lamont and Nathan Hines, Andy Nicol and David Sole; and Ireland's Andrew Trimble and Keith Wood.
