Royal ascent

Since adding world and European three-day eventing champion Zara Phillips to the RBS stable, our commitment to global sport has become even stronger.

Success on the world stage and a relentless 'Make it happen' spirit combine to ensure that Zara is a great choice as RBS ambassador. The British public also recognised her star qualities and determination when they named her BBC Sports Personality of the Year for 2006.

As the daughter of Princess Anne, who was also an accomplished horsewoman and is a former European champion, Zara has always been in the media spotlight. But she first made sporting headlines in her own right in 2005 when, on her senior debut, she partnered Toytown to gold at the European Championships.

After winning the world title in 2006, Zara and Toytown are now among the favourites for Olympic gold at Beijing in 2008. There, she'll be aiming to emulate the achievement of her father, Mark Phillips, a gold medallist in Munich in 1972.

Our three-year agreement will see Zara wear the RBS logo on her sleeve whenever she competes around the world. She will also be making a number of personal appearances on our behalf.
