RBS is a patron and Official Bank of The Open. We were at Royal Birkdale in 2008, but our relationship with the R&A goes back more than 100 years.

It's fitting that two of Scotland's best-known organisations – The Royal Bank of Scotland and The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews – should be so closely associated.
Our historic link to the Home of Golf has been matched only by our ongoing commitment to the sport around the world, through our support of the leading events and governing bodies, and our sponsorship of great players.
There have been none greater than Jack Nicklaus, an 18-time Major winner and now an RBS ambassador. We commemorated his final Open Championship in St Andrews in 2005 with a special edition £5 note.
This year's Open, the 137th, sees our patronage of arguably the most famous of the four Majors continue at Royal Birkdale in Lancashire, where we will once again by represented as Official Bank.
