Paula still waiting for Major breakthrough

Paula Creamer was joint-tenth at the McDonald's LPGA Championship at Bulle Rock in Maryland.

The RBS-sponsored world number three finished at seven-under – five shots behind teenager Yani Tseng, who birdied the fourth hole of a sudden-death play-off against Maria Hjorth to win.

Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam, the top two players in the world, tied for third place.

Tseng, 19, from Taiwan, who carded a final-round 68 to post a 12-under-par total, said afterwards: "To win my first LPGA title, and a Major, is almost unbelievable."

World number one Ochoa, a six-time winner on the LPGA Tour this season, fell just short as she chased her third Major in a row. "It's disappointing," admitted the Mexican.

"But I gave it my best, and I was proud of the way I made the two late birdies. It's still a great year."
