Jim Nantz

Hello, friends!

From golf to college basketball, and from tennis to American football, RBS ambassador Jim Nantz is the undisputed voice of CBS Sports.

He's been living out a boyhood dream for more than 20 years but in 2007 his broadcasting career reached a pinnacle when he presented the Super Bowl, the Final Four college basketball tournament and golf's Masters – all in just 63 days.

His famous 'Hello, friends!' introduction has also preceded a myriad of other sporting events, including track and field, baseball, swimming, gymnastics and the Winter Olympics.

Golf, however, has always been Jim's first love. As a member of the University of Houston's men's team, he roomed with Fred Couples. While Couples went on to pursue a playing career, Jim moved into broadcasting and joined the CBS golf team in 1985.

As the anchor for the Network's golf coverage since 1994, he has been partnered by lead analysts Ken Venturi, Lanny Wadkins and now Nick Faldo. Fact became fiction in 1996, when he played a prominent role in Kevin Costner's hit movie Tin Cup.

In 2005, Jim was named the National Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association for the second time, and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002.

He has recently finished his first book, Always By My Side – A Father's Grace and a Sports Journey Unlike Any Other.

Jim was born in 1959, in Charlotte, North Carolina and grew up in Colts Neck, New Jersey. He and his wife, Lorrie, live in Fairfield County, Connecticut. They have one daughter, Caroline.
