"I'm quite pleased with the race – we got the most we could out of it. We qualified 11th, which wasn't great, so to finish eighth and go home with a point is good.
I had a fantastic first lap. I passed David Coulthard and Nick Heidfeld in the first corner, but then in the second corner I got pushed off the track by Heidfeld and lost those two positions. But I got them back in Turn 3 by going round the outside. So that put me ninth – up two places – which was the basis of my good race.
You have to take the situation as it happens. That's what racing is, really – adapting to new situations. Throughout the race, from one lap to another, from one corner to another, you're adapting to new situations all the time. That's what makes the difference between a good driver and a not-so-good driver. So at the start and in the first laps, you have to just see where you are and figure out how to adapt.
Towards the end I had a battle with Heikki Kovalainen. The team didn't know if he was going to have to stop one more time or not, and so I had to take a risk and try to keep him behind me. I did what I could but, in the end, it was impossible.
I felt a bit disappointed, but I never really feel anger or other strong emotions in a racing car. Not today, anyway!
I'm really looking forward to the next race at Monaco. I've lived there all my life, and I'll have all my friends and family there. To get to the paddock I need to go maybe 100m from my home. It's a good track for Williams – the car has gone well there, and I've gone well there. So I'm really looking forward to a strong weekend."
