The NatWest Series
When it comes to drama and excitement in cricket, there's nothing quite like one-day internationals to get spectators on the edge of their seats.

When it comes to drama and excitement in cricket, there's nothing quite like one-day internationals to get spectators on the edge of their seats.
NatWest first got involved in one-day cricket in 2000 with our sponsorship of the NatWest Series. Back then, it was a 10-match series featuring England and the two touring nations – with the showpiece final at Lord's.
In 2006, the NatWest Series changed format and was relaunched as two separate tournaments involving a series of international one-day matches against each of the touring sides. England lost to Sri Lanka 5-0 that year and drew 2-2 with Pakistan.
The West Indies then took the first series of 2007. However, England finally emerged triumphant when they defeated India at Lord's in the deciding match to complete a 4-3 series victory and claim the trophy.
We were also pioneers in the sponsorship of Twenty20 cricket and, in 2005, supported the first international match to be played in Britain. England defeated Australia at the Rose Bowl in front of a full house – a victory that has since been credited with giving England the confidence to go on and win the Ashes.
England continue to play two NatWest International Twenty20 matches each summer.
